Sunday Gospel with Wally Desjarlais

Wally Desjarlais was born in Lac La Biche, Alberta at the Old Hospital (before it burnt down).

Growing up in both Edmonton and Buffalo Lake Metis Settlement, he found his way to CFWE Radio through a high school program. He did work experience for a couple of years and then decided to attend Grant MacEwan Community College.

Wally admits that he was born with no musical talent, so to compensate, loving music was not an option but a necessity.

"Those who know me, know I could sing", says Wally (with a straight face). Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, George Jones and Hank Williams are just a few of the artists Wally listens to regularly.

When asked what he would be willing to watch on TV forever, his quick answer "Coal Miner's Daughter". In fact, he can recite the entire script from the movie without it playing in the background.

Listen to Wally's Gospel program, Sunday's at 6am MST on CUZIN Radio.
